China to Fanoe 2023

In 2023, it was China's turn to present their kites and culture on Fanø.

In collaboration with the China Kite Association and the people behind the Fanø International Kite Fliers Meeting, 26 Chinese kite builders and flyers from 15 provinces were invited to Fanø. Kites were flown on the beach, an exhibition of ancient Chinese kites was held, and workshops were held for both adult kite builders and children from Fanø.

The participating kitefliers were:

The very best Pan Ying flyers can fly 2 eagle kites at once, one in each hand. It takes place both outdoors and indoors.

In collaboration with the China Cultural Center in Copenhagen and director Wang Wenlong from Zhejiang Song Dance Theater, a troupe of 30 artists from the internationally renowned Zhejiang Song and Dance Troup performed. The troupe was brought to Fanø only for the 3 performances and returned directly to China. All the performing artists are also teachers at the affiliated art school. The program consisted of 11 elements, including dance (ensemble and solo dance), music and singing, and not least acrobatics. The show lasted about 1 hour.
