We are an association that works with wind sports on Fanø. We help organize a number of events, primarily kite events
Fanø is home to the world's largest kite meeting. The Fanø International Kite Fliers Meeting attracts up to 5,000 kite builders and flyers, primarily from Europe, but there are also participants from places like the USA, Australia, China and Japan.
The kite meeting on Fanø is special in the way that it is a non-commercial grassroots meeting. From a small beginning in 1985 to today's big event.
In 2025, the kite meeting will celebrate its 40th anniversary. That is why we are organizing "Indonesia to Fanoe", where we have invited a number of the most famous Indonesian kite builders and kite flyers to Fanø in June.
The theme for Kite Fliers Meeting 2025 will be Indonesia. Like many other Asian countries such as China and Japan, kites are an integral part of Indonesian history and culture.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Fanø International Kite Fliers Meeting, approximately 30 Indonesian kite builders and flyers will be invited to Fanø. There will also be a cultural event with Indonesian dance and music. So the total number of participants from Indonesia will be approximately 40 people.
The kite builders have been selected in collaboration with Wolfgang Schimmelpfennig and Sari Majid from the Le Gong Kite Society. They come from different regions in Indonesia: Bali, Muntilan-Central Java, West Java, Muna-Southeast Sulawesi, South Sumatera, Yogakarta, South Kalimantan and Jakarta.
